CHILDREN’S Dance Class Dress Code
for Tiny Gems, Little Gems, & Little Diamonds
PLEASE PURCHASE ALL TIGHTS AND SHOES FROM THE DIAMOND DANCE STUDIO FRONT DESK.
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE OUR TIGHTS AND SHOES FOR THE SPRING SHOWCASE SO ALL OF THE CHILDREN MATCH ON STAGE. WE HAVE LEOTARDS, LEOTARDS WITH SKIRTS,
AND DANCE BAGS ON SALE AT OUR FRONT DESK.
TINY GEMS/LITTLE GEMS (age 2 - 4):
Girls may wear any color leotard and tights with skirts, tutus, or
form-fitting dance shorts. Boys may wear any color tank top or
t-shirt with shorts. Shoes needed are pink ballet shoes (girls)
& black ballet shoes (boys) and girls and boys need black tap shoes.
Please do not wear “costumes” unless requested by the teacher for specific classes!
Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail or bun.
Please use hairspray for flyaway hair.
Please do not wear any
jewelry to class.
LITTLE DIAMONDS (ages 5 - 6):
CHILDREN’S BALLET W/ JAZZ & TAP students may wear any color
leotard and pink ballet convertible tights. The convertible tights are
needed to have bare feet in jazz. Girls may wear short ballet skirts or
fitted black biker shorts over tights.
Shoes needed are pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. NO jazz shoes needed!
BOYS in black shorts or black jazz pants, white or black (no logos) tight fitting shirt, and black ballet shoes.

YOUNG Dance Class Dress Code
for Young & Adv Young Classes

YOUNG & ADV YOUNG (ages 7 - 10):
Girls may wear any color leotard and tights with skirts and pink
ballet shoes for BALLET and may add form-fitting dance shorts or
stretch pants over your ballet clothes for JAZZ. No shoes needed
for jazz. Girls may not wear sports bras alone.
Boys may wear any color tank top or t-shirt with shorts and black ballet shoes.
For tap, girls and boys need black tap shoes for TAP.
Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. Please use hairspray
for flyaway hair. Please do not wear any jewelry to class.
DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH (ages 7 - 10):
Clothing needs to be tight fitting any color clothes. Leotards and
long biker shorts, leggings, or capris preferred for girls. Please no
bootie shorts or sports bras. Wear jazz shoes, and/or bare feet. Tap shoes needed!
No Jeans or school clothes. Be ready to dance every class!
Hair must be pulled back in a ponytail. Please use hairspray
for flyaway hair. Please do not wear any jewelry to class.
TEEN GIRL’S DRESS CODE
for BegInt, IntAdv, & Adv Classes
All Students in the TEEN Classes AGES 10 & up will need
dance clothes and shoes for each class style listed below:
GIRL’S BALLET: Any Color Leotard, Pink or Black Tights,
Black form fitting athletic pants acceptable. Pink Ballet Shoes must be worn.
Pointe Shoes for Pointe. No Jewelry.
Hair is to be worn in a ballet bun with no stray hair in your face.
GIRL’S JAZZ & CONTEMPORARY: Any Color Leotard, Pink or
Black Tights, Black form fitting athletic pants acceptable. Black or Dark
Compression Socks for Contemporary. Bare Feet for Jazz. No Jazz shoes
needed. Hair pulled back with no stray hair in your face. No jewelry.
GIRL’S TAP: Same as Jazz, but must have tap shoes.
Hair is to be pulled back. No jewelry.
GIRL’S MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE: Same as Jazz.
Character Shoes (if you have them) or Bare Feet.
Hair is to be worn back. No jewelry.
TEEN BOY’S DRESS CODE
for BegInt, IntAdv, & Adv Classes
All Students in the TEEN Classes AGES 10 & up will need
dance clothes and shoes for each class style listed below:
BOY’S BALLET: Any Color Form fitting T-shirt (NO LOGOS),
Black Men’s Tights and/or Black shorts. Black ballet shoes and/or black
compression socks. Hair is combed back with no stray hair in your face.
BOY’S JAZZ & CONTEMPORARY: Same as ballet. Bare Feet. No
Jazz shoes needed. Hair is combed back with no stray hair in your face.
BOY’S TAP: Same as Jazz, but must have tap shoes.
Hair is to be combed back with no stray hair in your face.
BOY’S MUSICAL THEATRE: Same as ballet. Jazz shoes needed.
Hair is combed back with no stray hair in your face.

TEEN SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR STRENGTH
AND PBT WELLNESS MOVEMENT CLASSES
Students in Women’s and Men’s Strength Classes
will need hand weights around 8-10lbs for every class
All Students in PBT and Wellness classes will need a
YOGA MAT and a LARGE FITNESS BALL. Students in company and
higher level ballet/jazz classes will need THERABANDS (see below)
Please use chart below for the correct size of the LARGE FITNESS BALL
